Boston Recap

Is it just me or has this week flown by?!!

I've been meaning to do a Boston recap post this entire week but alas, here it is Thursday night and I'm doing this when I should be cleaning the house. But efffff that noise..the freaking NFL draft is on!! (Who got Luck? We got Luck!)

Anyways!

I flew into Boston around 11:30 Saturday morning and met Krissy at the airport.

We stopped by her house to pick up Matt and Mags and went to meet Greg, Maria, and Ella. We went for manicures (AMAZING!) and met up with the boys and the babies at the park.

Maria took this picture of me and Ella playing that is just adorable!

We all went out to dinner at Friday's and headed back home!

Sunday, Krissy and Matt were sweet enough to take me to tour Fenway (though they've probably been a million times!!)! It was AMAZING!! OMG I loved it! I wish Jon could have been there-he would have been in seventh Heaven.

me and Krissy during the tour

After Fenway we went to tour the USS Constitution which was very very interesting! Once again-Jon would LOVE it!! I think (...know) I talked him into coming with me in October!

We had Sunday dinner at Krissy's parents house and OMG....OMG. I can't eat lasagna here again and think it's as good as what I had Sunday. :)

The rest of the night was pretty chill...we went bowling, had dinner, played Wii, and just hung out. It was so much fun!

I was so bummed to have to leave so soon! But I had a blast!!

Love my nestie besties! :)

Leavin on a Jet Plane

Because I'm a good fan and I listen to Kenny when he asks me to come to Boston for the spring time. :)

I'm way way WAY too hyper for 5:00 in the morning!

Jon's finishing getting ready now then we're off to the airport.

Actually.

We're off to get breakfast and then go to the airport!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Quick Fix

After we painted the living room and hallway, I put up a small collage of pictures.

Before:

Something was missing though. I don't know...it just was missing SOMETHING.

Jon and I were at Hobby Lobby a few months ago and had a 50% off coupon. I found a "B" initial and loved it. I also loved the $6.99 price...BEFORE our 50% off. Sign me up! Something was still missing...so I added a few 4x6 frames and boom! There it was!

AFTER

Much much better!! Don't you agree??

Bachelorette Party Recap-Night on the Town

This part was planned literally on Monday before the party. We were originally going to just have the spa day and maybe grab dinner but one of the other bridesmaids and I decided to just go all out for her!

We met to start rounding up the girls and head to downtown around 5:30.

Our reservations were at 7:30 at Rock Bottom. The food was AMAZING! The drinks were AMAZING! After dinner we started our own little bar crawl.

We went to Cadillac Ranch, Tiki Bobs, and some weird ass bar I never knew was there in all my four years of living downtown. hahaha

Several shots, many girly drinks, and one bachelorette sleeping on the top of a parked car later, we made it home safe and sound at around 3:30 Sunday morning!

What a great night!!

Our Love Nest: Updated

One of my great new followers ErikaV pointed out to me that my pictures weren't working on my Love Nest tab. :( Womp womp. But! I got it fixed!! Thanks for pointing that out, dear!

So check out the tab and let me know what you think...you know...now that you can actually SEE the pictures!!

Bachelorette Party Recap-The Spa

After picking Cort up we got to the spa around 10:00.

They took us into our "quiet room" and I set up our lunch and just relaxed!!

Cort & I went in for our massages first.

Let me tell you..it was AMAZING!!

Definitely what I needed.

I finished before she did so I went back and caught up with the other girls and just relaxed, talked, and hung out.

We had lunch together and then we left the spa around 2:00 to go home, change clothes, and then head out for part two: our night on the town!

The bachelorette party went GREAT!!!!

It was so fun!!

Here's the set up:

Menu:

Sandwiches (turkey, ham, and cheese)
Chips
Veggie trays
Mini cupcakes

I really regret the fact that I took NO pictures Saturday aside from this one. But in my defense, I was running back and forth all day.

Some Updates and a Due Date

Not an I'm pregnant due date though.

First subject at hand though...my dad was discharged yesterday. Woo woo!! Everything checked out and they sent him home. He has a few more follow up appointments and he'll be good to go! I'm so so so happy about that! =)

You. Guys. One Tree Hill ends tonight. I'm so not ready for this! Two hour therapy session coming right up tonight at 8:00.

Now to the due date. Today is my due date for our first precious angel baby. I was more emotional last night than I was this morning when I woke up. It's such a strange feeling really...to think that I should have a baby in my arms right now. I know that God has a plan for us though and I'm sure those plans involve plenty of little ones for us to take care of and love. :)

April, be nice.

What a crazy past four days!!

I'll start at the beginning. Bear with me...

My mom was out of town Thursday night to keep an eye on my nephews while my sister & brother-in-law were taking my niece to register for college classes (OMG.).

My dad called Friday morning around 7 and asked me to take their pup out for him because he was really tired. Sure, no problem. I go there and take Charlie out and my dad looked fine. Tired, at the worst.

At 3:00 I get a call at work from my dad asking if I could take Charlie out again when I got off work. I asked him what was going on and he said he wasn't sure but when Mom got home he wanted to go to the hospital. I offered to take him but he wanted my mom to take him. I called my mom and asked her if she could come home and take him while I watched my nephews. She argued with me for two hours finally agreed to take him.

My mom & nephews get home the same time Jon gets home. I asked Jon to go over with my mom in case she needed help getting my dad to the car. Good thing I did because my dad was borderline passing out and Jon had to practically carry him down the stairs and to the car.

Cut to 10:00 Friday night, the ER doctor ordered FOUR units of blood for Dad and started him on an IV...then sent him to acute care. No reason that was explained to us or anything...just shipped him off and washed his hands of it, basically. I had mentioned to the doctor that I was concerned about my dad's breathing because he sounded very wheezy and his breathing appeared to be rather laboring for him.

Saturday comes and the day was pretty uneventful. Dad started drinking water and eating ice chips. The doctor had determined it was bleeding ulcers in his upper GI. Okay-good, now we have answers. The doctor decided to run a scope Sunday morning to determine the severity of the ulcers. Awesome. I mentioned the breathing again-I was assured nothing was wrong.

Sunday the scope occurs and they start my dad on a liquid diet. Gravy, baby. Dad eats lunch-no problem. Then 30 minutes after he eats dinner, he gets sick. Come to find out, they let him have V8. Ya'll. V8. You gave V8 to someone who is having bleeding ulcers? Are you out of your mind?

I chose to not say anything at that point and let it go.

9:30 last night my cell phone rings. It's the hospital...asking to talk to my mom. I explained she had called me but I would like to know what the call was referring to and since my dad signed off for me to be given information-legally, she needed to tell me. She told me she was just calling to tell my mom that they were changing up my dad's medicines. Really? You're going to call for that at 9:30 at night. Whatever, lady.

Sure enough. My mom calls 10 minutes later upset because they told her my dad had pulmonary edema (a/k/a fluid on the lungs). They couldn't tell her the severity of it-but my dad wanted her to be with him because he was "having a hard time breathing". Mom calls us and has all of us go to the hospital.

Here I am-freaking out wondering what the hell I'm going to do.

He wasn't having trouble breathing-his oxygen levels and vitals were fine.

Thanks for the heart attack, guys. 'Preciate it.

I had a little conversation with the nurse regarding the care my dad was getting and how unhappy I was about it. I brought up the V8 issue and she told me it was my dad's fault because he should have known he couldn't have acidic foods. I went off. O-F-F.

Anyways, they gave him medicine to help the fluid on his lungs. Today he was doing a lot better. He's off oxygen as of right now and they've unhooked the IV. He was started on a soft food diet tonight and seems to be doing much better. He actually has color to him and his voice is louder than a whisper. FINALLY.

I talked Mom into calling another doctor to start dealing with Dad now. (I'm not even getting into my doctor experience there. Let's just say, it's about as good as the nurse.) Hopefully, the new doctor will be there tomorrow.

As long as this post is...I cut out A LOT. This has been a very long, tiring, stressful, and hectic weekend.

Hopefully my dad gets discharged tomorrow and everything will start going back to normal!

On another note, I'd like to say that I appreciate nurses. I think it's got to be one of the hardest (yet rewarding) jobs out there. I, in no way, think that every nurse acts the same way as the ones we've had to deal with regarding this, whatsoever. It just goes to show that good nurses seem to be very hard to come by.
