Drip, Drip, Drip part...4?

Well guys...

Hopefully this is my LAST installment of Drip, Drip, Drip.

I called my brother who came by and looked at the furnace and roof today. He found the problem was with the roof. He said it's an easy mistake to make but a mistake nonetheless. He didn't fix it though...the roofing company we used last year has a 10 year labor warranty. If my brother (or anyone else besides them) touches the roof...it becomes our issue and the warranty is void.

So...Jon and I get ahold of the roofers. They come over and find the problem. They redo part of the roof.

And they told us to have the furnace completely serviced and send them the bill.

How great is that?!

Hopefully hopefully HOPEFULLY this is all over now.

Things like this stress me out...to no end. It makes me grumpy and not very happy.

Jon and I are having a date day tomorrow to just get away for the day.

Sign me up!!

It's 7:23 in the morning...

and I'm wide awake to tell you...

Drip, drip, drip saga?

Apparently STILL not over.

Ugggggggggggggghhhhh.

We had a horrible storm last night. Jon checked and everything was dry.

I went to bed...maaaaybe 15 minutes later Jon comes in, "There's water now."

I looked about as happy as an IU fan right about then.

So now I have to work (like I can focus) so Jon is going to handle it and HOPEFULLY they can find out where the hell this water is coming from. Jon went up in the attic last night and said he doesn't see where it could be coming from the roof..there are NO wet spots. The water seems to be coming from the furnace flue again.

Rar. Rar. Rar.

Happy Weekend!!

Helllo, dolls!!

Hope ya'll had a great week!!

Life has CA-RAY-ZEEEE around here!

Work has been really busy. I had Thursday off and went to the dentist to have a filling done...some how ended up with some swelling and pain that didn't ease until this afternoon. Nothing too bad-nothing a good dose of Tylenol can't fix. ;)

This weekend is pretty low key for us. I have to work tomorrow then we're going to the grocery store..then I'm hoping to get some more things done on our Spring Cleaning list. And I have some blogs to schedule too (including a Vlog!! Speaking of--why in the world does it take so long for Blogger to upload my video?!).

Sunday we're doing our March date day!!

So so excited!!

Happy Happy March, again guys! UNC plays tonight and currently are leading....let's home they hang on!! :) GO 'HEELS!!

And I thought Spygate was crazy.

If your household is anything like mine, you've heard about the Saints bounty program.

If you haven't-Cliff's Notes version--the Saints defensive coordinator paid defensive players for hitting and hurting players from opposing teams. The NFL started investigating this after the NFC Championship game after Favre was hit a gabiggillion times. Yeah...the game that took them to the Super Bowl to beat us. So help me if I find out there were bounties against us...Indy might riot. We're still pissed about it.

Mr. Commiss suspended Payton for a year. Now...I have NO doubt that he knew what was going on. I find it hard to believe he had NO idea what was happening. But he's not the only person who should be suspended. I know they suspended the assistant coach but still...why not suspend the players?? And slap them with heeeeffffty fines.

And I'm a real big fan of the Saints players who are tweeting about how mad they are about the suspension. Shut up. You guys did something that was against the rules and I, for one, am shocked they put the hammer down like they did. Maybe you should have grown a set and tried to stop this or tell someone that could do something about it. But you didn't...you did nothing so I don't feel sorry for you.

And thank you, Jeremy Shockey for blowing all of this out into the open. Big hugs.

Thank you....you probably stopped players from really getting hurt.

What's for Dinner Sunday/Meal Planning

Hey hey hey!! Happy March Madness, ya'll! (Duke LOST so I'm a happy girl right now...my little 'Heels lovin heart is still pitter pattering.)

Alllright onto business at hand...

Sunday-Lasagna and garlic bread
Monday-Healthy baked chicken nuggets (New Recipe!), Parmesan fries (New Recipe!)
Tuesday-Out for Pacers game
Wednesday-Calzones and bread sticks
Thursday-Hamburger and macaroni casserole (New Recipe!)
Friday-Fish and Wedges

And a little bit of info into our meal planning:

-I did a post last year about how I meal plan/grocery shop here. I really should do another one as our method has changed since last year.
-I would love to work on having different side items but Jon makes it kind of hard. The only "vegetables" he likes are potatoes and corn on the cob. That's it! So our side items are usually bread items, potatoes, or mac and cheese. I love my veggies so I'll buy the single servings of veggies and make some for myself.
-I also need to work more on lunches. I usually have left overs, but if I don't...I never really have anything to make for lunch so I end up going out to lunch...which is bad considering my town has a street I call "fast food road". Not good! I used to make Jon's lunch a lot....then that stopped when he was temporarily working in a different town. But he's back to his old stomping grounds so I'm sure that will start up again.
-I hardly EVER go out to breakfast. Sometimes I'll treat myself to a coffee. (Okay-I lie. It's really the flavored drinks at Speedway! hahaha) I usually eat bagels, cereal, or toast for breakfast.
-I always have snacks at my desk at work. And I try to keep semi-healthy snacks in the house. (Now would be a good time to add that Jon doesn't like fruits either. Welcome to my world!)
-I coupon. Not excessive but I do it...and I watch for sale items. In my town there are 3 grocery stores-two of which I frequent. Wal-Mart and Marsh. I usually don't go to Aldi's. No real reason actually. I just never think about it. I'm one of THOSE price matching people too. But guys...if you tell Wal-Mart that Aldi's has milk for $1.99..they price match...even though they don't sell that type of milk. Thank you, random lady who taught me that!!
-You'll notice on my post that some weeks we have repeat meals...no...we don't really. Usually life gets crazy/we change our minds and switch it up at the last minute.
-I'm always looking at new recipes. Thanks to Pinterest! (Shameless plug to follow me!)

So there you have my tidbits about meal planning. It takes a while for me to do it. At least 30 minutes to an hour by the time I make out the meal plan and write out a grocery list, go through the coupons and organize them.

Any questions/comments...let's hear it! I love all the comments I've been getting lately!!

What's for Dinner Sunday, Part 2 of Drip, drip, drip, and The Big 3-0

Hey hey guys!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

As you can imagine, it's been a crazy hectic weekend around these parts.

But first..let's get some sort of normalcy going on...

Monday-Stuffed Chicken, mashed potatoes
Tuesday- Calzones, garlic bread
Wednesday- Pigs in a blanket, mac and cheese
Thursday- Lasagna, garlic bread
Friday-Fish & Wedges

Noooow...let's continue on with drip, drip, drip...
(Part one here)

Friday, our HVAC service man came and made sure everything was good to go with the furnace. He met me at my work to tell me that he was having trouble getting it to light so he put a new part on it.

It worked great Friday night and Saturday day. Then Saturday night, we noticed it was blowing out cool air sometimes.

Jon called the HVAC guy again. He came out. And gave us a furnace 101. Basically...we were kind of jumping the gun on calling him. He was very nice about it and assured us it seemed to be working fine.

Nonetheless, we're going to buy a new furnace before winter we've decided. One that's a high efficiency and that way we don't have to worry about it when we have future babes.

Fingers crossed drip, drip, drip is done and over with. I think it's supposed to rain at some point this week so hopefully I don't come home to water in the furnace again.

I also want to give a big big wave, hug, and say hello to my new followers!! Just a month ago I had 9 followers..now I'm up to 30! How exciting!! Can't wait for those numbers to keep increasing!

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Did I hear that? No..it's 9:00 in the morning. I have the day off and I'm sleeping in dammit. Reg is taken care of and we're cuddling on the couch.

Drip drip drip. *looks at empty water glass*

Well, crap on a crutch, Batman. I left the faucet going....

No..it's off. Maybe the sink has a small leak? Nope.

Hm...fridge? Nope.

Maybe it's in my head? Yep..yep, that's it.

Drip drip drip.

I'm in the kitchen and the drips are coming from another room. What the crap?

Drip drip drip.

Why oh why is it coming from the small furnace closet?

Here, this Hannah Montana flash light I was given at a NASCAR race (Oh you classy, Kari.) will show me the light. Snicker.

Water on the floor and coming out of our furnace? Probably NOT a good thing.

Okay don't freak out. Call the HVAC guys.

Now they're saying it's from the roof.

Call the roofing guys. Raise hell and get them here in two hours.

Drip drip drip.

They found the problem. Good considering you guys warrantied the roof for TEN years and it's been on for TEN MONTHS!

What? The problem isn't with the roof? What is it then?

Oh...the cap for the flu came loose? How does that happen?

Oh it's the wrong size.

Sorry I yelled at your lady on the phone today..but she has an attitude problem.

Here, want a Ski for the road? Or how about the crow I'm eating right now?

Thanks for coming by as I hang my head in shame.

HVAC guys are coming back tomorrow to fix the flu cap.

The roofer caulked the cap so it's a bandaid fix but it will keep the rain out for the time being.

Now we can start drying our furnace so we can turn it on again.

It's supposed to be 33* tonight.

Looks like the hubs and I will be cuddling a lot tonight!

The joys of home ownership.

Thanks for the memories, Peyton.

Well....as much as I knew this day was going to come...it still sucks. I feel like my best friend just moved away. (Okay-I lived through that..it wasn't quite like this but..go with it.)

Tomorrow we're releasing Peyton. Mr. Laser Rocket Arm himself.

I know it's best for the team. I know that we can't afford to keep him, get Luck, and fulfill our needs (A/K/A Let's get some damn defense up in this shit, okay?). But selfishly, I love him. I love what he's done for this city. We have a Children's Hospital built in this city BECAUSE OF HIM. We have a Super Bowl win BECAUSE OF HIM. We had a Super Bowl in this city BECAUSE OF HIM.

I hope whatever city he goes to treats him well. The fans better treat him well. And I hope that he knows that there will be at least one 4'11" blonde chick bee boppin into Lucas Oil to see him when he comes back to us. I'll be holding a sign that says something along the lines of "Welcome Home, Peyton. Thanks for everything!"

He'll always be a Colt in my heart. And the city of Indianapolis will always be his home.

Let's hope the time he plays for doesn't play against the Saints anytime soon. I'd hate for a bounty to be put on his head.

Zing.

(Sidenote: I know some people on here HATE sports and that's totally fine. This is senseless rambing to them. Sorry!! Sports have always been a huge thing to me. I totally teared up when this news became official. I'll totally full blown cry when they announce it. Don't judge!)
