Happy LOVE Day!!!

My Valentine's Day was in one word...perfect.

I got an adorable candy bouquet sent to work from my parents in the morning.

Then in the afternoon I was surprised with:

Aren't they GORGEOUS??

After we got home from work, we went to our favorite place in our town for dinner..and SHOCKER there was a 10 minute wait!! We were SO excited! We actually had two restaurants picked out because we didn't think that we would be able to get into that one. Yayy!!

After dinner we came home and had a little photo shoot:

What the hell? Would you look at that orb??

New favorite!
The rest of my gifts! (And if you can read the inside of that card...props! And don't mind my adorable husband-he makes me laugh!)

Link Up: Our Love Story

In honor of Valentine's Day fast approaching-I'm linking up with Becky for our love story!

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

We've been together a little of 6 years-married for 2 1/2 amazing years.

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

We sat next to each other in 7th grade English. He had this HUGE book of every Simpsons episode up to that point. We bonded over there. (I love Bart Simpson, what can I say?) We went to a dance together during Freshmen year.

He asked me out. I said no because I was stupid and had clouded judgment.

We went to a dance together our senior year

&& we actually dated for a few months. Then broke up. Damn clouded judgment. We remained best friends through our freshmen year of college.

Our sophomore year of college we talked every single day. EVERY SINGLE DAY. I can't tell you how many times we went over our minutes/text messages. (Oh the sucktastic days before mobile-to-mobile.) On Christmas Break, I asked my friend Sam if she would see if her fiance (at the time-now husband) wanted to go to dinner with Jon and I. We had dinner at Chili's and every one wanted to hang out afterwards...not me. I wanted to be with Jon alone. I sent him a text message (ohhh classy) when he was sitting next to me asking him if he wanted to come to my house after dinner. We kissed on my couch that night.

I was confused..are we together? Not? What are we?

At this point, January 25th was coming up...I knew what that meant. It was the day Jon asked me to be his girlfriend our senior year of high school. Surely he didn't remember that.

We continued to talk every day. We even dropped the L-bomb with no title yet.

Sure enough, on January 25th, Jon asked me to be his girlfriend "and one day his wife". :)

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}

We were married on July 25, just over 2.5 years of bliss!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?

We got married in our hometown. Big wedding-around 225-250 people. It was perfect!!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

He calls me "Angel face". I call him "Handsome".

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

Just three? Okay..

1. He makes me laugh. He's the funniest person I know. I cry every day from laughter.
2. He's going to make a great dad.
3. He's a hard worker and he takes pride in his job and he does a great job taking care of us.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

On July 3, 2007 he came to my apartment for the 4th. We were planning on seeing the fireworks with my friends the next night. He had been acting off all day. I made us dinner. As we were eating, he said he had something to talk to me about but wouldn't tell me until after dinner. I was putting the dishes in the dishwasher and came back into my room and my furniture was moved-clearing out the middle area.

He asked me to sit down and he said,"I don't want you to be my girlfriend anymore.."

I thought he was breaking up with me. He went to grab my hand and I pulled away.

He asked if I "got" what he was saying.

He said,"I'm saying that you're my everything...". He said a lot of sweet, amazing things between and ended with, "Will you marry me?"

I screamed, cried, and hugged him.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

Flowers & teddy bear for sure :)

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

It depends on my mood really. Usually I'm all for a movie on the couch. Cuddling is the best!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

Have a baby. Several babies. Healthy, happy babies.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

Exchange gifts, go out to dinner, and see The Vow

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?'s all on him. :)

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

Be best friends!! A co-worker and I were just talking about this today. Jon is my best friend. If I'm mad, I call him. If I'm sad, I cry to him. If I'm happy, I run to him. He's my rock, my support, my advice giver, my helping hand, my saving grace, my soul mate, and my best friend.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

I couldn't pick just one.

My Planner

All color coded and prettyful!!

Not to mention...crazy busy!!

It keeps me organized though...and I like that I have a lot of space for each day so I can make any to-do lists I need without scrunching everything.

Do you have a daily planner? How do you stay organized?

House Goals: 2012

Ahh our love nest!!!! I'm always looking to improve/change/re-arrange things.

Here's my list so far:

1. Buy new towels for the bathroom.
2. Add photos to the wall by the recliner.
3. Buy a new and taller book case for the office.
4. Put new carpet in the master & guest room.
5. Put new carpet on the porch.
6. Change out some pictures and put out the new frames I got for Christmas.
7. Put up a photo wall/wall ledge with pictures in the office.
8. Paint the spare bedroom. (Okay guys-can we all band together with plenty of vibes and prayers and baby making dust that we paint this room to get ready for a beautiful bundle of joy?)

Wanna know a secret? A few of these things have been crossed off the list. But unfortunately-not number 8.

Monday Evening Recap!

Err...Happy Monday, guys. If there is such a thing. I'm just grateful that even though the real Giants don't have the Icebox, they still managed to send Giselle into a fit of rage and send the Pats back to Foxborough with no trophy. See ya!

This weekend was crazy busy!! But so fun!!

-Grocery shop

-GO DOWNTOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NFL Experience, Super Bowl Village, Celeb hunting...oh my!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!

-SUPER BOWL!! (Go little bro!!)

Done but not on the list:
-Oven cleaned
-House dusted and vacuumed

Super Bowl in my Super City

I know I brag about Indianapolis but's an AMAZING city! And obviously other people thought we were pretty damn awesome since they decided we could have the SUPER BOWL.

Now I know it's a BIG secret but I love football. No, check that. I'm obsessed. I play fantasy. I research. I watch games. I was giddy when Jon decided we needed to get NFL Red Zone this year.

I yell. I curse. I talk some mad shit. I love the Colts. Love the Cowboys. I hate the Patriots. With the passion of a thousand suns. And that's okay. They were the best team in the AFC and deserve to be in the Super Bowl...though I'll never cheer for them.

Anyways...moving on...

Jon and I talked about going downtown to see the Super Bowl stuff. We went back and forth. Do we want to go? YES! What about traffic? What about the crowds? What if we get up there and can't see anything? What if it's cold? What if we pay the $50 to get into the NFL Experience and it's maxed out (happened Friday, actually)?

We decided, what the hell? Ya know...who knows if this is going to happen again in Indy. So we decided to head up to Indy around noon on Saturday. We had our tickets for the NFL Experience set for 5:00 so we thought we'd have about 4 hours to look around then head over to the Ex.

We managed to find parking for $10. In a garage. 3 blocks from Monument Circle.

I'm pretty sure Jon and I both did this dance in the car:

We bee-bopped out of the car and headed to Monument Circle...which beautiful enough in itself. It was all dolled up with the XLVI letters.

So proud of our city!!

We walked through the Huddle which is really Nordstrom in the Circle Centre Mall. They had it set up for anything you could want with the Super Bowl logo on it. We both got shirts. We decided you know what? It's about 1:30..everyone is eating lunch ( should have SEEN the lines to get into Steak n Shake!). Why not try to go to the NFL Experience?

We WALKED RIGHT IN. Our actual time we were guaranteed in was 5. We walked in at 1:45.

They had game used balls from each Super Bowl, the Lombardi trophy you could see, lockers from each team, etc etc. It was AMAZING!

And I learned a valuable lesson....when your husband looks over and says, "Oh, shit! There's Clay Matthews!!" He's COMPLETELY SERIOUS.

You guys. I saw Clay Matthews!! I got some pictures but he looks like a pin dot we were so far away. He was actually part of one of the interactive experiences and he was "blocking" kids from the end zone. How sweet!!

Photo Op
We had a jerk Pats fan give us some looks for wearing our Colts gear. Clearly he thought he was still in Boston.

After the Ex, we went outside to Super Bowl Village.

In case you missed it on ESPN...

...yep....we had ZIP LINING!!!

At around 3:30 we stopped at the mall to grab some food and beat the crowd. We noticed a line forming and went around it. I happened to look into a store and said,"Um...I think I know why there's a crowd....there's Dallas Clark!" Yep...tight end for the Colts!

We started to head back to the car after that. We were walking across the street and I was laughing about something and BAM.

Walked right into someone and I hear,"Sorry, little mama."

I without thinking said,"Damn, you're built like a brick shit house, aren't ya?" I looked at him...and well...we KNOW I ran into a football player. We're not 100% sure but the guy looked like Larry Fitzgerald.

And I told him he was built like a brick shit house. I'm glad he thought that was funny. I'm a charmer. :)

We went back to Monument Circle to take a few more pictures before heading home:

I'm amazed. Still.

Happy Super Bowl!!!!!!

I...uh....OMG...uh....DID YOU SEE THAT?

I...uh.......HATE the Patriots.

Hate is such a strong word.

Not strong enough though.

They make my blood boil over.

In the game my heart stopped ten times.

Now I'm running on adrenaline. PURE ADRENALINE.

Jerraud Powers for the Colts tweeted today, "Pats win? In my house? NEVER."

He was right.

Not in our house.

Not tonight.

Little brother led him team to a scary scary win.

But ya know what?

They won.

My heart stopped at that last throw by Brady. When I saw the ref signal incomplete, cheers and high fives went all around the room.

I did the Sue Heck dance.

I'm still doing the Sue Heck dance.

I'm so PROUD of Indianapolis. I'm so proud of how much work the city put in for this Super Bowl. And I'm so happy everyone else got to see my amazing city.

(And for the record-yes, I take football seriously. Sorry if you don't get it. And I don't mean to offend any Patriots fans at all. I'm not a liar-I hate you guys cuz you beat us all the damn time. That's all. I have hella respect for your players and even that damn sweat shirt cut off wearing coach. But I still don't like them. Now if I was from Buffalo, I'd really hate Tom Brady. ;) )

What's for Dinner Sunday

Dear Strep Throat

Oh hey. I remember you from when I was 17. You had me man-down then. Sunday through Wednesday was the same.

But my doctor kicks ass and gave me antibiotics and now I feel almost 100% better.

So you suck.

Don't come back.

Love, Kari
