Well..this throws a wrench in things...

Monday, I bit into a cookie. My left back tooth hurt like hell. I thought okay..? Random? J and I head to the Pacers game that night. I bite into a hot dog...about throw up from the pain. I'm a little scared at this point.

Tuesday morning, I go to work, sit through a meeting. Can't tell you one thing covered in the meeting...I kept feeling like I was going to pass out. They send me home. I get this gut feeling I need to see SOMEONE.

I call a dentist in the next town over (everyone in my town was either an a-hole about it, or booked). He tells me I need to get a root canal but he can't do it. *Side eye* He refers me to a specialist in Ohio. Um, okay? I call my boss freaking out. His wife works for a dentist in my town (not the a-hole lol). They fit me in today for a second opinion.

I get the tooth extracted next Thursday. It will be so nice to get it taken care of and out of the way. And I don't have to miss any work! Yay!!

Final Cleaning List for the Weekend

-Changed furnace filter
-Cleaned out most of the cabinets: pantry, spice, pots/pans, tupperware, and junk drawer
-Cleaned out fridge and freezer
-Wiped down all the baseboards
-Changed the batteries in the clock in the kitchen
-Cleaned out my make up bag
-Cleaned out/threw away old medicines/first aid items
-Went through my canvas bin in the bathroom where I keep all my hair products/lotions/etc

Overall, I think it's been a productive day! I even manged to do the dishes twice, make 3 meals, do 4 loads of laundry, get Reg ready for the week (I always clean his crate, brush his teeth, clip his nails, etc on Sundays.), take a shower, make popcorn, and manage to plop my happy little self on the couch right at 9:00 to watch Army Wives!

Not sure how much cleaning I'll get done next weekend. As of right now, my plan is to paint the office on Saturday while Jon is at the Reds game! Keep you updated!

Have a great week, dolls!

Spring Cleaning

I'm taking a small break from the Chicago trip to touch base regarding Spring Cleaning. Thursday is my day off this week, so I thought...what better way to spend the day than starting to get some of the checks off my list. So far, time pending, we have:

-Go through make up/bathroom products.
-Wipe down all base boards.
-Go through pantry/cabinets/freeze/fridge.
-Wipe down ceiling fans.
-Change batteries in the clocks.
-Wipe down blinds.

It's going to take some time, but really...this will knock quite a bit off of my list. A lot of things on the list are things that I do on a weekly/daily basis. So hopefully, this will start the cleaning really well!

Chicago-Day 1

We started out the day sight seeing...

We saw "The Bean"

And Buckingham Fountain (From Married with Children)

Got the best hot chocolate ever!

and followed it up with the best pizza we've ever had...

...and of course, did some SERIOUS shopping!

I took over 140 pictures this weekend-I'm sparing you guys! hahaha The next post will show you our Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier day! Also, our hotel room and reviews! Stay tuned!

Office Project-Unexpected Step!

(Source)

We've tossed around the idea of getting new furniture for the office. We stumbled on this for $80! All three pieces. More importantly-notice the piece on the upper left? It has a file cabinet drawer which equals LOVE to us! We're picking this up tomorrow after I get off work!

I'm painting the first week of April. I have a text out now to figure out when we can get the carpet installed, but we're still thinking the week we're gone in May. Hopefully, I can get my friend to do it for us. Fingers crossed!!

I'll post before/after pictures of our new office furniture hopefully by Monday-along with our first room to spring clean checklist!

Have a great weekend, dolls!

Picture Update

Our new couch!

Jon's chair ;)

Our new vinyl lettering above our table. (The lovely flash made it look a lot crappier than it really looks!)

Spring Cleaning

It's almost that time of year!

Our list so far is:

-Clean out Spare Bedroom. (Partially checked! We threw away a TON of stuff. But we still need to take some stuff to the shed and whatnot.)
-Buy all plastic containers and re-organize shed.
-Plant grass in the yard.
-Get gravel for the driveway.
-Get Office painted. (And possibly the spare bedroom.)
-Change out furnace filter.
-Give each room a thorough cleaning. (Separate list for each room will come next week!)
-Clean out downspouts/gutters.
-Give windows a good cleaning.
-Scrub out inside of cars and get our floor mats cleaned.

I'm sure I'll add more to it!

In good news-the boys just left with our old couch and recliner-our new stuff should arrive tomorrow between 1-3!!

Office Re-Do Phase 1: Planning

Here's an idea of what I'm working with right now. Sort of. I snapped this picture the day we moved in. The pink-ish blind has been replaced with a white one. The LB guitar has its home in the game room. But it gives you the idea. Now, the wall that I took the picture from is brick red. The other three walls are the light orange/melon color you see. And you see the closet in the second picture.

We've been talking about re-doing this room for quite some time. It's not a huge room. We're talking a 10 x 15 with the closet. So let's get started, shall we?

-We're keeping the red wall. I love it to be honest. And we have a painting Jon loves that goes PERFECT with the wall color. The other walls, however are going to be a deep tan color...not totally sure what shade yet. I'm bringing a carpet sample home in the next week or so. (I'm going to paint the room in 3 weeks.) Here's the idea of colors I'm looking at:

We're also going to install new carpet in the office too. I can't find a picture of it online though. :( But it's the exact same style as what we have in the living room and hallway, just a different color. The base color is a dark brown. I think it will look great. We're going to put the same thing in our other 2 rooms too, when we get to them!

So here's the rundown/checklist so far:

-Pick out carpet (CHECK)
-Pick out paint
-Paint
-Get new closet doors
-Stain closet doors
-Buy new shelving for the office
-Have carpet installed (We're going to have one of my co-workers take care of this for us when we're on vacation in May.)
-Enjoy our amazing new office!!

House Update

Jon and I have been talking about putting more work into our house. We have so many things we want to do. So many, in fact, that one will be talked about in a separate post that I'll make in a bit. This weekend, we spent buying things for the house. Including:

and

Those pretty babies get delivered to us Friday afternoon! I'm soo excited! We went to Target after ordering them and I bought chocolate brown throw pillows to go with the sofa.

-We also traded in our junky toilet seat to one that doesn't close on its own. Check!
-We bought new globes for our hallway. The globes we had were original to the house. They gave us a yellow-ish light that wasn't all that bright. We bought plain white ones at Lowe's today and it made the hallway so much brighter!!
-We traded in our Valentine's Decorations for Spring ones! (Pictures to come)
-Bought a new door mat. We were still rocking our "Happy Holidays" one. Cort and I went to the Christmas Tree Shoppe yesterday and I found a monogrammed "B" one and snatched it up for $6!
-Speaking of Christmas Tree Shoppe....I bought us nightstands..FINALLY. Jon's aunt and uncle gave us their bedroom suit which came with a queen bed frame, a dresser, and a tall armoire, but no nightstands. I found mission style walnut ones at CTS.
They look similar to this, but with just a basic walnut knob on the drawer. We're very happy with them. For the $45 price tag, they're very well constructed-made of solid wood, even. Nice!

And finally, at CTS, I found vinyl letters. Now, I had been sort of leery about these, but for the price of $1.25...how could I go wrong? The ones I bought came in a pack of like-sayings. I bought one for the kitchen and one for our bedroom. Now, above our kitchen table, it says,"Eat, Drink, and Be Merry" and above the doorway in our bedroom it says, "Live Laugh Love".

So happy!!

Now, on to the next project!!!

Active Blogger Again!

I promise promise promise I'll be better at this! Starting right now! ;)
