This afternoon, the person who was recommended to me by our original pastor called me back. He agreed to play our wedding!! Just talking to him, I felt so much more at ease!

He already sent me a confirmation email too! :)

I'll be dropping off a deposit for him on Friday!! Then we meet with him in June! Yayyy!!! :)

Taking deep breaths...

The ceremony musician totally backed out on us. It's confirmed. Back to square one.

Honestly, I'm just going to deal with it on Monday. I'm not worried really, although I should be. I'm just going to make some phone calls and go from there.

Things happen for a reason.

*sigh*

Pictures and Uncheck

Yesterday and today I worked on wrapping the silverware in a napkin. I saw another Knottie (I can't remember who--I looked at a TON of bios the other night).

Also, I started making favor boxes the other night. Here's one of them:

Now for the uncheck. *sigh*
I've been trying to get ahold of our ceremony musician. I've tried numerous times. Half the time it says the line is busy, the other half it says that the number is no longer in service.
So, I call the church. For them to tell me that the pianist is already left...FOR THE SUMMER. They were completely unaware that she agreed to play at our wedding. And they don't know how she can cuz...well, she'll be gone all summer. And are you ready for the best part? There is no real way of getting ahold of her. :(
The old pastor at the church left me an email saying he was aware of what happened. He apologized and gave me the number of a person who can do it. But ugh. I feel guilty because I have no way of telling her no thanks. But that's just it, I have no way of getting in touch with her.
Hopefully this other person can do it. I'm very blessed and appreciative that our old pastor stepped up and is helping us out.
And then there is my bustle. Oh geez. I called 3 places today.
1) Place A: They can do it. For $35, including steaming my dress. But they can't get me in until ATLEAST the first week of June. Ok...
2) Place B: They tell me that a 3-point bustle is impossible. That the bustle will NOT stay on and they would just safety pin my bustle. Uh, no. I'm not safety pinning my $600 wedding dress.
3) David's Bridal: They tell me that it IS possible. They can fit me in on My 28th. It should be ready the first or second week of July. Ok, wonderful! Their prices are comprable. And they sold me the dress so they KNOW what the bustle should look like.
Why is this SO hard?? Ugh. A Disney World vacation and an elopment sounds WONDERFUL to me right now!

I'm starting to resemble a lobster!

I started tanning last week and I bought the cheapest package. (I usually tan really quickly.) I got 2 free visits to the next up package a/k/a the Faster bed. Wonderful!

Last night, they asked if I wanted to use one of my visits to the faster bed. Sure, I do! She says,"You're really brown. I'll put you in there for 15 minutes."

15 minutes later I get out all dark and I'm super excited...and then...

About 2 hours later I notice that I look a little red.

A few hours later..I look even redder.

Today, my stomach, back, legs, chest, arms, basically everything is a lobster shade of red.

I should have just stuck with my "Fast" bed and been done with it!

I'm all itchy and uncomfortable...which makes me irritable and bitchy! lol

Guess who isn't going to be tanning for a few days...ME!

Gotta consider the kiddos!

We're going to have between 10-15 kids at our wedding. I wanted to give them something to do while they are waiting on the wedding party to get in and they can eat dinner. I printed off this template online. Then I cut the pages, 2-hole punched them and tied blue and coral ribbon on the top. Then I took crayons, grouped them into 3 and tied them with the ribbon as well.

We spent a lot of time this weekend with Reggie. Here is my new favorite picture:

That sweet little look right there is the look he usually gives me when he gets in trouble.

*sigh* I'm realizing I really need to get on some stuff. Such as...
*Ceremony programs--should probably get a final design going for those
*Ceremony music--I need to set up a meeting with her
*Bustle--I need to figure out what to do about that. The lady who was going to do mine had a stroke so she's not doing alterations anymore. :( One of my friends said her grandma could probably do it. If not, she's going to get me the number of a woman who can do it. *fingers crossed*

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

We met with our new pastor today. We both love her! I'm so grateful to her for stepping up to the plate and helping us make our wedding special.

This is the timeline for the ceremony:

I, Kari/Jon, take you, Jon/Kari to be my husband/wife, my constant friend, my faithful partner, and my love from this day forward. In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

I love it.

Next on the to do list--meet with ceremony musician. :)

Looking back...

...I was looking through my old posts on here and it made me smile and laugh a little. I kept seeing posts where I would say,"I can't believe how close we're getting to the one year mark!" or "Only 9 months to go!"

I sit here today looking at my countdown that says 102 days to go. CRAZY!!

Updates?

2 more groomsmen got fitted for their tuxes today. Only 1 more groomsmen to go and our dads.

We ordered the ushers' gifts for the rehearsal dinner. We bought them monogrammed money clips. They should be in next Friday so I'll take pictures then.

We meet with our new pastor on Thursday! I'm really excited to meet with her! :)

I started tanning today so I'm not pasty-white for my shower in a month!

Speaking of shower, my mom sent my invitations out this weekend. We've already had some RSVP's. Yay! :)

Saturday, my mom and I (and possibly my best friend/MOH) are going to buy some gifts and things for the shower!

And in NWR news...

The bank called today. The appraisal went through ok. I called and got a quote on home owner's insurance. Now we just wait for the final review and the title company to get a move on. *fingers crossed*

Reggie is doing great. I visited him today! It makes my heart melt when I walk up and he comes bounding up to me like, "Hey! That's my mom!" lol I just love the little guy!

Little Checks!

A while back I bought some cute throw away dishes for me and my girls for the bridal suite!

I decided today that I would put together one of our pew bows and attach a daisy to it and see how it looked. I'm pleasantly surprised!

My bed post is similar width to the pews at church. I really love the way it looks! We're using yellow daisies on the bows. And for the reserved seating for the families there will be a yellow and white daisies both.
I love it!
Countdown: 104 days!!

Meet Reggie!

This is what he did most of the day. lol His shirt says Private Pup on there. :)

After Jon got off work, we took him for a walk in the park. He did SO good!

When he's tired, he likes to sleep touching my legs somehow. Be it like in the picture or he'll lay next to me. As long as something (i.e. a paw) is touching me.

Here is a close up of our little guy! He's just adorable!

Hair Trial-CHECK!

When I went to my hair stylist this morning I came with those 5 pictures I put on last night. By the time I sat down though, I had it narrowed down to one picture:

After 30 minutes this is what I left with:

I L-O-V-E it! I could have cried when I saw the final product! I think I'm going to get some little diamond combs to put in the sides! :) Thoughts?

Hair

I have my hair trial appointment tomorrow! I'm so excited! Here are pictures that I'm bringing her:

I'm going to talk to her and see what she thinks will look the best. She's been doing my hair since I was like 11. I trust her. :)
Countdown: 109 days!!

Good Morning!

I managed to get ready for work fairly early this morning, so I figured I would update this! :)

Lots of checks lately!

-I got a few more menu coasters made. (And bought supplies to make more!)
-Jon and his Best Man got fitted for their tuxes.
-Got all of the invitations assembled, put in envelopes, and addressed! They just need stamps.
-Mom and I worked on my shower invitations. They are all addressed and ready to go. Mom is mailing them out this week!
-I printed out our rehearsal dinner invitations & timelines for our bridal party. I have left over forever stamps and envelopes so at the beginning of July I can send those out. :)
-Mom bought some really cute centerpieces for my shower. They are potted gerber daisies! So sweet! :)

This week I'll be busy with checks, too!
-Tomorrow (Thursday) I have my hair trial appointment.
-I really need to find some inspiration pictures. For awhile now I have been thinking of wearing my hair half up, but I'm worried that it will be too humid for the curls to hold up. So tonight I'm going to look for cute updo pictures to show my hair stylist.

And in NWR checks:
-On Saturday we get our puppy!! :) :)
-This week SHOULD be our home appraisal! *fingers crossed*
