Productive wedding check weekend!

We're meeting with our new pastor on April 14th! YAY!!! I'm so excited!! :) Great news on that front!

Jon and I went to the mall yesterday and bought the GM's gifts.

We also bought small metal tins for the restroom baskets. I used some pale yellow tulle I bought to make a colored stripe to go around the tin. I also put a "W" and an "M" so we knew what went where. Here are the baskets so far:

Men's Basket contents: mouthwash, Advil, baby wipes, Tide wipes, hand sanitizer, smell good stuff, and bandaids.

Women's Basket contains: same as men's with the addition of hair spray

We're also going to add to each of the baskets: mints, floss, and kleenex. And for the women we'll add tampons and pantyliners.

And here are my bridal shower invitations! :) They are pre-made that we bought awhile ago, but I think they are very cute!

In house hunting news, we found a different house than the one I mentioned before. This one is much nicer inside and it has a pool table and a game room! Which is perfect for us! We were able to come to an agreement on an offer for the seller to pay closing costs and leave the appliances and the pool table! We got pre-approved for a certain amount and we were able to stay in that bracket. We're meeting with the bank tomorrow morning to go through everything, so hopefully tomorrow we'll know for sure if we can get the house! *fingers crossed*

Due to the last paragraph, we've decided that right now it would be best to focus on our house and getting it exactly how we want it..so we've decided to just take a mini-moon right now and go to Gatlinburg in the spring with our tax check! :)

Keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow!!

Favor Candy

I know (I think?) I mentioned that we bought our favor candy last weekend. I'm still mind bloggled that we managed to stumble across such a great deal. We ended up spending $65 and got PLENTY of jelly beans. We actually found them in the Easter candy aisle at Wal-Mart. I found the coral ones about 2.5 weeks ago and thought about buying them, and I thought,"Oh it's ok. I'll just get them at the Wal-Mart in my town." Joke's on me--our Wal-Mart didn't have them. Neither did the Wal-Mart in the next town. We went up to Indy to do stuff up there and we happened to stop at one up there and low and behold--there they were!

The blue bag contains these flavors: Blueberry, Blue Hawaiian, and Verry Blue (which are the teal ones, that we are planning on picking out). The yellow bag contains these flavors: Lemon Meringue, Buttered Popcorn, and Pineapple. (Great combination of flavors, huh?) And the coral/orange bag contains these flavors: Tangerine, Peach, & Orange n Creme.

Great find! I'm really excited we found these!

Time is of the Essence

We've been spending a lot of time finding a house this week. We found one, put an offer, got a counter offer, and today we're giving yet another offer. It doesn't make for much time for wedding planning. lol I woke up this morning determined to catch up on my checklist. I made the timelines for the bridal party. The first one is for the guys. The second one is for the girls. You can't read the text too well, so I'll write the times under each picture. I'm happy with the way they came out though. We'll print these off and send them (to our out-of-town members) and hand them to the others. :)

Update on pastor situation: We have to wait until the board approves the pastor before she can officially become our pastor. But, we're 99.99999% sure they will approve her. It's just a formality the church has to do. Technically we're not supposed to find out until April 20th, but they are considering approving her through email votes so we know sooner. We'll just have to wait it out.
And just a sidenote: We registered at Target a month or so ago. We got a phone call from my aunt last week and she asked my mom if our registry was trying to tell her something. We had no idea what she was talking about. She said,"Look at your Target registry. There is a baby crib bumper on there!!" Sure enough. A baby blue and brown polka dotted baby bumper was on there. How it got on there--we have no idea. But we tried multiple times to get it off of there online and we couldn't do it. So we drove to the store last night and deleted that sucker off there. At first, we didn't think anyone would notice yet since my shower is still about 6 weeks away...then we got a text from one of Jon's friends that said something along the lines of, "Hey we're looking at your registry and uh..is Kari pregnant?" Hah. Negative. Let's hope nothing else gets magically added onto it.

Overwhelmed...

...that's about how I feel right now.

Between meetings for the wedding this month (reception hall, cake baker, and church all in a week) it's been hectic enough. I get the final word today--we should find a new officiant. Wonderful. 4 months and a week away. The pastors we originally booked can't promise they will be in town if they get a new job out of the state we'll be left high and dry. So I made two phone calls to 2 references that they gave me. I pray that one of them a) will be available b) will be willing to perform the ceremony and c) mesh with Jon and I.

We've also started looking at houses. We are meeting the realtor to look through some houses on Wednesday. Another day, another meeting. We've been calling banks to see which ones would give us the best rates, etc. More phone calls. More meetings.

Work seems to be my saving grace lately. I love walking into work and just doing my job. I don't have to answer my cell phone. Vendors don't have my work number (well, some of them do because they've done business with us but they don't call me at work). It's almost like a break. Not that I don't love wedding planning or house hunting, but it's nice to get away. My bosses are great. They let me complain about it, cry, do whatever else. It's so nice to have bosses who care. With that being said, word was mentioned today about possibly cutting people down to 4 days a week if business slows down. But I don't know if that will really happen or not. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm grateful to have a job, period. I'm BLESSED to have a job that I love.

Ya know it's crazy..the last time I stopped at the reception hall was to drop off my deposit back in June. There have been a few emails here and there but past that it's just been quiet. I go in the office last week and he asks about head tables and times and limos and cars and my mouth dropped. Wow...last time I was in there I didn't need to think about that stuff yet and now I need to figure out how we want the head table. Goodness gracious.

Let's hope this pastor thing gets resolved beyond ASAP. Fingers crossed. I have faith that we will have one, but I would like to know sooner than later.

It's starting to feel so real now!

I went to my best friend/MOH's house today and we made plans for my bachelorette party! I'm sooo excited! :) It's going to be June 13th! We're going to Bazbeaux for dinner (best pizza ever!) then we're going to Howl at the Moon which is a bar in downtown Indianapolis! I'm so excited! :) Ash is sweet enough to do a package deal at Howl that is called the Last Hooray (??) package which gives everyone a free drink, me a free shot, no standing in line all night, no cover charge, and we get to dance on stage!! WOOO!!! I so cannot wait!!

I can't believe we've hit this mark...

...less than 5 months now! Soon it will be less than 3 months! Then before you know it..boom! It's going to be July!

I'm so busy anymore, it's crazy! Between work, working out, and trying to find time to hang out with all my friends, family, and of course, Jon, I feel like I barely have time to do stuff for the wedding! Add in the fact that I was really sick with a bad cold this week and I didn't get too much done.

My new DIY project I'm working on is one that I found in the Paper Source catalog I have sent to me. (www.paper-source.com I believe is the correct URL). They made coasters and on the coasters was the menu! Jon and I both loved it so I've decided to tackle that! So far I have about 30 coasters made. :) I'll post pictures of them soon. They're easy to make! I made the directions up as I went along, and I'll post those too when I finish all the coasters. :)

I have my hair trial set up for April 16th! I hope my stylist can make it--we may have to push it up a week or two because she'll be expecting her baby around that time! :) But either way, I'm super excited because she's been doing my hair since I was 11 and I just love her! :)
